College Planning Calendar: June 2024

School is almost out for the summer! Get ready for three months of fun and just a little college prep with our June College Planning Calendar.

Ah, sweet summer! Time for lots of sunshine, the beach, cookouts, fun trips, and so much more. Students and counselors have worked hard all year long, and now it’s time for a well-deserved break. But there’s still plenty to be excited about and plan for this month—both college prep related and not. Check out what’s coming up in June and get ready for some fun in the sun!

General college prep and planning

  • For all students: Remind your high schoolers to take a break this summer—they’ve definitely earned it! Before you know it, new graduates will be packing for college, seniors will be starting the admission process, and juniors will be preparing for an important year ahead. Everyone deserves some rest before diving into summer jobs, college planning, and test prep. Speaking of which…
  • For fall test-takers: The College Board recommends any student planning to take the SAT in October to start studying this month. Students who are taking the ACT this fall should also start studying if they haven’t already. Find fun ways to get ready with the articles and advice in our Test Prep section!
  • For everyone: Each month, the College Essay Guy (Ethan Sawyer) packs his calendar full of webinars and events on everything from personal statement writing to skill building to understanding college finances. Be sure to share and check out all his resources for counselors, parents, and students!

CollegeXpress has helped me find scholarships to apply for and look into more colleges. While there are many websites similar to CollegeXpress, every website is different, and I've found a lot of good insight on this website. Receiving emails from CollegeXpress about scholarships is extremely useful, and getting insight about colleges near, far, and anywhere in between helps me narrow down my choices to what I want, which is also super helpful. The articles are always really good reads, and I can't stress enough how helpful this website has been to me. Anything related to college is beneficial to me as a senior, and I have learned lots of useful things to help me on my college journey this year.

CollegeXpress has helped me in a series of different ways when it comes to finding scholarships and learning information about different universities. I actually found my dream university through CollegeXpress and am working on getting there.

As I transition to furthering my education, I can say with certainty that it simply wouldn’t be possible without the help of generous organizations such as CollegeXpress. Those who initially founded CX had no idea their platform would give a plethora of information to a first-generation homeless kid native to the ghettos of over half a dozen states. Everyone at CX and Carnegie Dartlet gave me a chance at a future when the statistics said I had none. And for that, I thank them.

I found CollegeXpress when you partnered with Bold.org for a scholarship. I found your website, put my information in, and got connected. I only wanted to stay in North Carolina [for college] and not move far from home, but you all opened a door up for me. I started researching colleges you suggested for me. On your social media platforms, you also give really good test-taking tips that I used and suggested others to do the same. It helped me a lot on my exams, so thank you.
