Undergrad Diversity Transfer

Dominican University: All are welcome at Dominican!

At Dominican University of California, we embrace our vibrant and diverse student community! Dominican University of California’s student body is a true representation of California, and this rich diversity makes it an amazing place to live, study and grow.

Dominican is a designated Minority Serving Institution (MSI), specifically both a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Institution (AANAPISI). 71% of our undergrads identify as ethnically diverse and 23% are the first in their families to attend college.

With dedicated staff and faculty who are committed to culturally inclusive and holistic programming, Integrative Coaches who proudly embrace their multicultural identity and Peer Mentors who identify as students of color, first-generation, and bilingual, you can feel confident that our support team will provide you with the guidance and resources to ensure your success during and after college.

Dominican students have ample opportunity to engage with the community through projects, internships and field placements, etc. They’re athletes, leaders, performers and creators, and many are several of the above. You’ll find your place—and your people—too as your campus experience takes shape.

To make the most of your time at Dominican, we encourage you to attend campus events, lead in our student government or join campus clubs and organizations. These experiences nurture Dominican pride and student success and support an inclusive and equitable community.

Diversity Action Group
The Diversity Action Group (DAG) is a committee of students, faculty, and staff who advocate for and create an environment that is diversity sensitive. DAG members are involved in community building efforts on campus and are committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community, and a culture that is welcoming and supportive of all. Students are encouraged to join!

La Vida Dominican

La Vida Dominican is a grant-funded program designed to empower your academic success, cultivate a strong sense of belonging, and unlock personal and professional growth within our dynamic Latinx and BIPOC community. We prioritize the celebration of culture as well as student-centered and family-centered work to fully support and embrace you throughout your journey at Dominican.

Student Organizations
Joining clubs and organizations help students build community and cultivate meaningful relationships with Dominican peers, faculty, and staff. Through your participation, you’ll develop skills that contribute to our campus and beyond. Our clubs are family, and we’ve saved you a seat at the table.

TORCH Student Success Program
The Torch Student Success Program draws on the strengths and resiliency of first-generation college students and students of color to foster college readiness. The program cultivates leaders, instills community consciousness, and promotes academic and co-curricular engagement.
