A few years ago, I was in a highly abusive relationship. It was my two good friends who took me in and then helped me find a spot at the shelter. What would I have done without them? I probably would not be alive. My best friend held me while I cried, and was even with me in court when I obtained a restraining order. She made it her mission to see that I was ok.
What would I have done without their help? I shudder to think about that.
